Writing plan- Washington D.C memoir entry

- The bus ride
June 3 2010 we visited Washington D.C. Washington D.C is a beautiful place, it’s full of history past and present. Almost every 8th grader went, we took 3 ½ buses, when we arrived the first thing we saw was the Washington monument. After a few minutes we finally stopped at the holocaust memorial where everyone on my bus got off except my group. Being the only ones left we went to the monuments, our bus driver got a little lost so it took us longer than expected to get to the Lincoln memorial. The Lincoln memorial was full of people there to remember the long gone president. Next we went to the Korean War memorial, there we saw family’s laying flowers and rubbing the names of their loved one’s off the wall. Right next to it was the Woman’s Korean War statue, then we walked to the F.D.R memorial, it was a walk but not too far. Mrs. Fisher knew all about him, you could tell he was one of her favorite presidents. The long walk came when we started heading for world war two monument, we walked along this long concrete path that one side was old trees and the other was water. Half way through our walk on the path we stopped to look at a fish in the water and Mrs. Fisher almost pushed Jenna in. it was funny but luckily she didn’t go in. when we finally got to the World War 2 memorial we walked around and found Delaware. Once we found Delaware Mrs. Fisher turned to us and asked us if we wanted to walk to the white house, we all looked at each other in tiredness and reluctantly went. I’m glad we did because the white house was beautiful; the side we saw was the side where Mrs. Obama planted her organic garden. We had a few minutes to catch our breath and look at the white house. On our way back the walk was much faster, we stopped and got drinks at a street vender and waiter for Mrs. Fisher and paytens mom to catch up. We had to walk all the way back to the World War 2 monument; we got there in like 5 minutes and plopped on the grass. Our bus was the last to come, but that’s ok, we got to union station and ate lunch, Jenna and I, left Mrs. Marie and Payten to go look for people from school, we were getting pictures for Mrs. Albanese. The bus ride home was enjoyable, it went by really quick because I didn’t have the excitement of arriving somewhere new. On the bus Jenna and I were sitting together, (what a mistake) we were laughing so hard, and paytens mom told us to be quite a lot. The trip was fun but also educational. I hope in future ears I will be able to go back and enjoy the parts I missed.
